Quarterly Meeting

The CCV meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th March at the Mackintosh Sports Club, Keppoch Street, Roath, kicking off at 7.30 pm (we’re usually in the room behind the bar).

It would be great to have plenty of people there to discuss the various things on the agenda – your input will be highly valued, whether you have a committee position or have just volunteered with us a couple of times. Plus you can enjoy a pint at the same time!

Hope to see you there!

Radyr Woods

Join CCV on Sunday 3rd March to help with installing a footpath at Radyr Woods!

*****You can join us by ringing/texting 07450700214*****

NOTE! Do phone the leader or email in advance so we can make sure there’s enough space. Rob Bronsdon will be leading the task.

PLEASE only RSVP if you are certain you can attend and let the leader know if you cannot make it for whatever reason as seats on the bus are limited and you would be denying another volunteer from coming out on task!

If you are already a member you can access the programme through our website and find out more information about who we are and what we do:

What to do and bring:

• Book with the relevant leader – Seats on the minibus are limited

• No experience necessary – All training is provided

• We will meet outside Cardiff Museum at 9am or outside the warden centre at Forest Farm in Whitchurch at 8:30am

• It is possible to use your own transport and meet on site if easier but please confirm with the leader first

• Wear suitable outdoor clothing, sturdy boots and/or waterproofs

• Bring a packed lunch – We will provide the hot drinks and biscuits.

Hope to see you soon!

Please be aware that plans are subject to change at the discretion of the client.

CCV Christmas Meal

Nope, you haven’t misread! I’m delighted to inform you that booking for the Christmas meal, traditionally held a bit later after Christmas, is now open! We’ll be heading to Toby Carvery in Whitchurch, on Saturday 2nd March, starting at 7.30 pm.

https://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/…/…/cardiffgatecardiff/carvery

To really get you in the Christmas spirit we’ll be bringing a few limp old crackers we’ve had around the house for several years, and I’ll be wearing my festive jumper and Santa hat. Anyone else wishing to look completely ridiculous is, of course, welcome to do so. Spaces have already booked really quickly so get in there quick!

You can book a place by:
– Contacting Tina Giblett
– Messaging the Facebook page
– or email ccv@live.co.uk

Book early to avoid disappointment!

Pentyrch

Join CCV on Sunday 24th February for the last coppicing task of the programme at a beautiful site in Pentyrch; the perfect way to end the month! (Coppicing is a form of woodland management that involves cutting down trees, leaving a stump about one foot high which allows new shoots to grow from the stump. This extends the life of the coppiced trees indefinitely)
