Mill Farm Residential Weekend Away

19th-21st January 2018
Join Cardiff Conservation Volunteers for a weekend at Mill Farm in Monmouthshire which will be full of hedge laying, food, drinking and socialising, what more could you want!? The hedge laying will be taught by a professional instructor.

Meet us at the usual place outside the Cardiff Museum at 7:00pm on Friday evening or please arrange with the leader beforehand to discuss other meeting points.

NOTE! Spaces are limited on this trip so you will need to contact the leader in advance so we can make sure there’s enough space. Spaces are already booking up!
Ian Gibblet is leading the weekend trip and he is taking bookings now. You book by contacting 07450700214 or email ccv@live.co.uk.
PLEASE only RSVP if you are certain you can attend and let the leader know if you cannot make it for whatever reason as seats on the bus are limited and you would be denying another volunteer from coming out on task!

What you will need to do:

• Spaces on the minibus are limited so please RSVP by contacting Steve before you turn up. If you are new to the group, please join by clocking the ‘join us’ tab on the website.

What you will need:

• A sleeping bag, a ground mat or airbed, a pillow, nightwear and toiletries are essential. There are beds available but sleeping arrangements are discussed at the location.
• Money – You will need to cover the cost of the food that will be prepared. This will include Breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also need spending money as we usually head to the pub Saturday night. This will be discussed when booking a place.
• Suitable warm clothing that you are not afraid to get muddy and sturdy footwear.
• Vegan, vegetarian and other dietary requirements are catered for but please remember to let the leader know in advance!
• No experience necessary!

Friday – Meet at Cardiff Museum at 7pm. Drive to Mill Farm and sleeping arrangements are discussed at location. Unpack and relax for the rest of the evening. (Dinner will not be included this evening but snacks will be prepared)

Saturday – Wake up at 8am for breakfast and ready to start work at 9am. We’ll stop for lunch around 12:30pm. Continue working until 4pm. Back to the accommodation for dinner and get ready for the pub in the evening (Completely optional)

Sunday – Wake up at 8am for breakfast and ready to start work at 9am. We’ll stop for lunch at 12:30pm. Continue work until 4pm. We’ll pack up the tools and pack our things away. We will all help to clean the accommodation before leaving. We will drive back to the Cardiff to drop the tools off before driving back to the Museum. We can’t guarantee a definite time but we hope to drop volunteers off between 7-8pm.

Hope to see you soon!
